    Great portable MD player

    I've owned and used one of these portable players since the late 1990s, in 2020 I still frequently use that very player and have purchased other used ones. They are also the loudest player of any Sony MD player I have ever owned. It has a standard earphone jack, runs on 2 AA batteries, has megabass, and a very simple set of controls. If you use MD and are hard of hearing like me (I was born that way), this one gets louder than most. And when other brands and models of portable MD machines died after years of use, this one keeps on working. I am definitely NOT a fan of Sony, but I think this is about the best MD player ever made. Not exactly pocket size, it will fit in a man's pants pocket and the controls are not easy to accidentally press. And unlike iPods, if you unplug the earphone ...

    Sony MZ-E40 Mini Disc Player

    This MD player works great. It sounds awesome. It plays MDs & I think ones recorded in mono. It is just a player & it does not record. I received it in great condition with the case. It was made in 1996 or 1998. I can't see the print on the back of it too well because it is real small. So, it's 18 to 20 years old & it was a good deal for $40.00 on eBay. The previous owner took real good care of it. I know MD players are outdated now since 2013 but I have four of them & I love the rich bass sound all of them have. I still use them & will continue to use them as long as they work.

    Very nice player.

    Had one in my shirt pocket at work for years back in the 90.s the sound is very good has a lot of bass very well made. I remember it falling from my pocket many times at work and after putting battery's back in it always kept working. very well made and sturdy. PS-TRY using Koss Titanium Headphone's with it they sound super!!
