I've recently bought two of these cameras just to test them out around the outside of the house before I go all in with an 8 camera, permanent install, combining wired and wireless outdoor night vision cameras of different resolutions for different areas of importance around my house. I've been shopping outdoor wireless camera systems for about two years now. I'm glad I waited because of the intro. of 4K. I first came across Amcrest a few years ago and was very impressed, especially with their night vision specs.. Believe me, they do get their stated specs., their not exaggerated, even in total darkness. Picture quality in total darkness at 70' of course isn't like it is during the day in the excellent color rendition the camera's reproduce. The Amcrest Pro App is very professional, easy to set up and manage which I'm just using for now. When I complete my system with the eight cameras I'm choosing, I'm going to be buying and installing an Amcrest NVR with a switch so I can integrate some of their 4K wired cameras for more detailed views, and even 2 of their military grade looking PTZ cameras. The Amcrest App has all of the functions at your fingertips to control the functions of every camera, even the PTZ camera such as masking, patrols, etc. Now Amcrest has even introduced an exterior microphone, so you can monitor the sounds around your property. Something I missed from using an old Uniden system I had when I could hear in the dark what I couldn't see. As for complaints regarding wireless range, that's NOT an Amcrest issue, it's the user's own wifi router. Obviously you want to position your router higher up, but some, even if newer just don't have enough milli watts in transmission strength. Those little wifi boostersyou plug in the wall outlet, advertised to give you a good signal all around your house, aren't designed for what you need to have great outdoors range. You do need a quality, and most likely a little expensive combo wifi/router or buy yourself a High Quality Range Extender, I recommended Amped Wireless Dual Band. I get 100'+ thru concrete block. But back to Amcrest, I highly recommend their cameras and their App. It's not hard to figure out or navigate. I was uneasy about ordering some 4,6, or 8 camera system from China, with an app. with some wacky name to find in the Play Store that may go offline and dissapear at any time with no notice or recourse. I prefer to pay slightly more for these ruggedly but cameras with a USA based company. Thanks Amcrest !!Read full review
