  • The Shop on Blossoom Street by Debbie Macomber

Another wonderful book by Debbie Macomber. This is the first in the Blossom Street series. I definitely recommend reading all of this series. The main characters are Lydia, Alix, Carol, and Jacquie. Lydia starts a new business called, "A yarn shop", she offers a class on knitting a baby blanket and the other three sign up for the class. All three are completely different in social class such as Jacquie is very high class but very unhappy, Carol is middle class but she and her husband wants a child very badly (Carol has already miscarried twice), and Alix poverty class very angry with everyone. Jacquie is taking the class to make a baby blanket for her son and daughter-in-law, but she is not happy about becoming a grandmother (especially with the woman that her son has chosen for a ...

  • SHOP ON BLOSSOM STREET

I belong to a Book Club. The type of books we read are as varied as the personalities of the members. Not being able to find the recommended book, I referred to an advertisement I had recently received for a new Debbie Macombre book titled A GOOD YARN. On further research, it was determined that this later book is a sequel to SHOP ON BLOSSOM STREET. We all decided to fall back on the later selection for the current month. It was a good read, easy and yet it held my attention. Unlike other books of this nature, the characters and their life situations were varied enough that it held my attention to the very last page. Sometimes once the climax is reached and questions are answered, I find myself actually finishing the book only because I want to say that I "finished" it. Not so with ...

  • The Shop on Blossom Street

I absolutely loved this book! I originally bought this book to read on the plane to pass the time. I never really did think I'd actually finish it. I haven't finished a whole book in years! I had a hard time putting this one down and read it in about 8 days! Debbie Macomber is an excellent writer. She is very descriptive and writes in so much detail that I actually had a picture of each character in my head! There were a few times I even found myself crying while reading the book, which doesn't happen often either! I recommend this book highly!

  • The Shop on Blossom Street

I wanted all of the books in the trilogy of the Blossom Street Shop by Debbie Macomber. She keeps you interested so you don't want to put the book down. She has such a talent, and I loved the idea of the trilogy, so that you can continue from one book to the next; you have the feeling of already knowing the characters and can't wait to see how she introduces the next new people. I plan to read many more of her novels. Not a lot of sex and her characters are always unique.
