excellent ballet book - not just for coloring!
This book is a 'coloring' book, however it shows proper ballet positions and technique with very detailed drawings and descriptions. It is a very useful tool to both students and teachers alike. As a teacher, I have used this book as 'homework' to help my dancers reinforce what we've learned in class. The students have fun coloring the pages and the parents love having something tangible that shows them exactly what their dancers are learning in class each week. Though this is a coloring book, because of its detail with not just the drawings, but the descriptions as well, it is aimed at the beginning dancer through the 4th or 5th year (or even higher) dancer. Preschoolers will enjoy coloring the pages, but most likely wont understand what they are coloring or why, other than they are ... It's great, very informative, I use item to teach class
My students love to color the pictures as they learn the information presented. It is not just a cloring book of Ballet pictures - it is Ballet instructions that you can color! If for some reason, I forget to give out pages, my students get disappointed! Being a former professional Ballerina - and now a teacher and a Director of about 1200 dancers for over 25+ years- the content is good. Some minor changes I'd make though is more pictures about "turn out" and I'd change the order of the Ballet information.My students love to color the pictures as they learn the information presented. It is not just a cloring book of Ballet pictures - it is Ballet instructions that you can color! If for some reason, I forget to give out pages, my students get disappointed!
