    add'l value of previous editions

    The value of this earlier edition is seen when you put it along side the current one. You can then see the changes in the authors , and that adds even greater value to the older addition. Thanks, Jim

    Great Bible study tool - gotta have it!

    Fee is not only one of the smartest individuals that I've ever read, he's an EXPERT on Bible study! However, that doesn't stop this book from being extremely understandable, even for the beginner. Stuart and Fee outline patterns for studying the literary styles of the Bible, and make incredible observations about cited passages - so much so, it spurs you on to study yourself. I've not only read this book, but I've taught it in the classroom, and every student comes away with the same comment - I don't know how I ever read the Bible before thinking like this! Extremely helpful - absolutely the best on the market for the target audience. There's a reason why this is already among the classics of the genre!

    Good Resource for Small Group or Individual Study

    We are using this book as part of our church's small group "curriculum." Fee and Stuart were both professors of mine at Gordon-Conwell, and they have an excellent grasp of interpreting the Scriptures. The book is not light reading, but it is enlightening. We found study questions for the book online that have enhanced our group discussions.
