Walking the Bible
I bought this item because of the title and the item description on the auction site and my interest in biblical history. However I was very disappointed in the approach and subsequent reactions made by the author. On the one hand he explains his intrigue with using actual geography and archeology to confirm the accounts of the Bible through historical exploration, but then, before he even starts, he explains away the veracity of the Scriptures by trying to explain their existence from a skeptics perspective. To him they are not the revelation of God, but merely a social collection of stories consistent with the culture of the times. Mr. Feiler's approach is illogical. On the one hand his expressed purpose is to demonstrate the historical accuracy of Scripture in order to satisfy a ... The entire work would have been much more satisfying and functional if he had been consistent throughout his research, explorations and results. The inconsistency is actually revealed at surface level when he titles his work, "Walking.." when in actuality all his references to traveling are accomplished by plane and various motorized vehicles.
