    Killer Movie!

I liked it. It told the whole story of how Jason came to be. Of course you had a lot of violence but that is to be expected. It's the main reason why people watch Friday The 13th movies in the first place.

  • Better than Jason X

This review, especially the next comment is from a guy who grew up on Jason and has been in a fist fight because someone said "Jason movies suck." I loved this movie!! It is so old school it isn't even funny. Now all you people who badmouth the movie (much like you did for the remakes of Halloween & Texas Chainsaw) have either A: Never seen the other movies, or B: Have no idea what Jason is all about. Jason movies are about cheap scares, nudity, blood and gore. That's it, end of story. They're not meant to be classical, epic landmarks like "Lord of the Rings" or even the "X-Men" movies. It's meant to scare you, show you some naked people and gross you out with the gore. This movie does all of those things. Now, the story is ...

  • Friday The 13th (2009) Extended Cut

After ninteen years of Friday The 13th, the genre of slasher films gets a remake. For fans of the series, this is worth seeing. This is actually the original cut, being that most of the edits for the theaterical version had certain scenes running too long. That would make this the only other horror film besides the remake of John Carpenter's Halloween, done by Rob Zombie, to go beyond the traditional hour and a half cut. This version combines much of the material from the first four or five films and speeds up for the actual blood bath done by Jason himself. You also have to remember that the original Friday The 13th was completely different from the sequels and had ...

  • Not just another remake

Jason is back and Crystal Lake is as deadly as it was in the 1980's. Director Marcus Nispel takes his shot at the remake of the highly successful series that first appeared in the 1980s and does a very good job. When the original movie came out in theaters it scared the heck out of everyone who saw it. This movie does not quite rise to that degree of horror but it comes pretty close to it. The movie starts out in 1980 with Jason's mother and Jason killing the original camp councilors then jumps to the present. This is not just another remake, there are a few good changes to the plot that make this one worth watching. The sex scenes are rather graphic at times and some of the slasher scenes are also so if your not into that type of movie you will not like this one. ...

  • The characters are better in this remake.

I'm not crazy about remakes overall. I liked this one. I thought the camp characters were much better than the previous movies. Jason, was interesting in this movie and I liked what they did. I still like the originals and I recommend the original first two movies. What didn't make this movie excellent for me were two things: 1. Trying to do the origin flashback of Jason's mother. 2. The surprise ending. The flashback to Jason's mother in the beginning of the movie didn't work and doesn't replace the original. I felt like it was better off left out in the movie. The ending, where Jason emerges out of the water was too predictable and you saw it coming miles away. It was too obvious where the camera was aimed and it wasn't surprising and it ...
