  • Used Physics Ed. 7

I needed this book for my Physics class but I also thought it explained concepts and example problems very well. There are extra bits of information sprinkled throughout the sections that are related to the material but not essential in learning the concepts that could be bothersome. Luckily, these parts are labeled and can be avoided when you just want to know the core material. Overall a good book but don't waste your time buying the solutions manual just find the solutions online.

  • GARBAGE! Don't get this if you want to LEARN physics!!!

I had to get this book for a pre-professional physics class. Blah! This book is mostly words and explaining theory and not enough examples. I have to go to my professor's office hours every lesson day for him to explain stuff to me. I was coming for physics 1 for engineers using a different book (which I did well in), with more examples and understood HOW to do problems and not the theory behind it and the life story of the physicist who discovered them. You would think engineering physics would be harder, no, this pre-professional book is vague and worthless, unless you want to learn more about dumb materials like fur and ebony rods and biographies than the acutal art of physics itself. Good for 'enjoyment' not for practice and learning to apply to your job.

  • Necessary Evil

I agree with my professor, the book was too 'busy.' It was hard to read because of the format and all the extra 'stuff' that it was amended with. I would not buy this book, but I was required to by my community college. In my opinion majority of problems are too simple. I would have prefered to learn from a physics book that approaches physics using calculus. If you took calculus, you would find this book very mundane and elementary and for that reason hard to follow. I only used the book to work out problems. I didn't actually read it, yet I'm pretty sure I aced the class.

  • Phyisics by Cutnell and Johnson 7th edition

The copy I bought looks almost brand new, and it allows me to follow along in class, right with the instructor. I got it b/c I needed it for my physics class, of course, and it seems just as good as a book should be. I feel the examples in the chapters are explained really well. Plus, I saved a butt load of money by going to Ebay, as opposed to my school's book store.

  • Physics isn't that hard with this book.

I bought this book because I was taking "Physics 201" in college. Ebay offered me the best price that I could find. The book is the exact book the class required. It has great examples to show you how to work problems, and great chapter review problems to help you learn to work them yourself.
