  • Snap-On RKRA380 ratchet repair kit

This is a classic Snap-On 3/8" 20 tooth ratchet repair kit for the classic (pre F720) "F" series 20 tooth ratchets. It is a direct replacement for your old fatigued worn out Snappy ratchet parts. Though the spring that comes with this kit works, it is made from a heavier guage wire and is somewhat longer than the original spring. I personally feel that the spring in it's current form is a little too long, as it makes the ratcheting action alittle too tight for my liking, and switching the selector back and forth more difficult. I usually trim 2 to 3 coils away, making it shorter and just right. This may not be the case for everyone. Overall the spring supplied with the kit pack will work in it's original state, but the action will not be nearly as smooth...not that it's smooth to start, ...

  • Right parts for what I wanted

Purchased this repair kit to fix an old Snap-On ratchet that was my dad's. it is somewhere in the 80-year-old range. I probably could have gotten a brand-new one from Snap-On free but I wanted to keep the one I have for the nostalgia. I now have a functioning ratchet I can use.

  • Maybe OEM, maybe not

The parts fit well and seemed to be correct. However, the parts were a black finish instead of chrome like the finish on the original 1987 ratchet. The on/off selector "pawl" is a different design from the original, it is less smooth operating. When the ratchet was assembled , the on/off selector lever would not index correctly making it hard to use.
