I had been pricing slow cookers for a while before I bought this one to make sure I got the features I wanted. It had to be at least a 6 qt or bigger, a locking lid, and not be silver or black in color. We have a lot of potlucks at our church so I wanted a color no one else had. I love this one mainly because of the lid that seals tightly. My previous one had a locking lid before one of my children broke the pot. The only thing I wish was different about it is, I would like it to have a small light on the front that lights up when the crockpot is on.

have used it several times to make bone broath cooking the bones as long as 48 hours. It worked flawlessly and I only had to add water once. I like the sealed top to prevent evaporation. I like that it doesn't have a timer that shuts it off automatically.

it is Rivel under a different name. Not sure if loosing a good established name is a good idea. As to durability ask me in 20 years or so. But Rivel has always been Rivel has always been good for at least 20 years this being only the third one I have had.

I am so pleased with this product. I had another one for many many years, but this one is incredible. It cooks amazing and with the silicone seal it seems to seal in all the juices and flavor. I will probably purchase more for gifts to my family members.
