Great product for the price
So far so good. I have used it a few times and it is very easy to use. Love the instant on as soon as you open the display and off when you close it. Easy to transfer to my computer. Just hope that the touch screen lasts as this was the failure point of my old one. Not sure they have done much to improve that. Otherwise, all great improvements over the older tape versions.

Sony HDR-CX260V: The Smooth Operator
This is the first handycam I have ever owned and I did extensive research before choosing this brand and model. I am so impressed at how smooth the action is - there is no shaking even when zooming in and the zoom makes no noise and it is very easy to operate in a slow, smooth action without the fast, erratic action that I had been fearing. The camera fits very comfortably into my hand when shooting a movie or taking photos: In fact the camcorder fits into an ordinary camera pouch along with its spare battery. The fact that you can be clicking still photos while in the middle of recording a movie is excellent - it is so easy that I accidentally took a heap of stills in my first movies without realising it. The camcorder we purchased prior to this one leaves the recordings with a green tint when taping indoors in lower light, so we were looking for better quality low light filming. This vidio camera is very light and easy to use. The indoor filming quality is good and color looks great. The software download makes it very easy to edit the clips and transfer the video to a DVD.
