Product Information

The Sling Media SB100-100 is a device that was designed to stream audio and video to different televisions throughout the home. The Sling Media SB100-100 is wired and connects using an HDMI cable from the device where the videos are being stored. This Sling Media digital media streamer can input up to three different devices and has a built-in tuner. There is no monthly fee associated with connecting to the Slingbox network either. The Sling Media SB100-100 is simply connected to the cable box or DVR and it is ready to stream. An Internet connection is required to stream videos on this Sling Media digital media streamer. This wired media streamer is also designed to stream video in 1080 high definition. A person will be required to have a high definition-capable television. This fully wired media streamer is easy to use and comes with a remote so the user is able to play, pause, rewind, and fast forward their streaming videos.

    Had one when it was new. It's great having the toy again.

    I wanted to try the only model I knew of that would work point to point without needing the mfgr's server and had installation software. I have this running on Win10 though it reports an error. I couldn't get it to run on Win7 and I will probably setup WinXP as a virtual machine in Linux for production. I haven't tried through the firewall to the Net but there is no reason it shouldn't work. Nor have I tried the ir remotely. However, my guess is that there could be security flaws over the Internet since the product is no longer supported.

    Get this if you want a cheap Slingbox solution without the bells

    Once I bought the cables this works great, the downside of this model is the requirement for a hard wired network cable and the limited connections that it has to connect with your video sources. The advantage, it's pretty easy to set up and once you select the correct remote controller it's just like sitting in front of your TV. I have it connected through the RCA connectors so it doesn't have an HD signal but it is perfectly watchable. - My total investment was $15 so I am a happy camper.

    a whole new world of mobile tv

    i love these - i see no reason why cable has to stay home - i get to watch tv anywhere i have internet, it works great and its nice to watch the shows on my dvr from work - only downside is you have to pay for the iphone app

    Slingbox is the way to go, but the new ones are way too expensive!

    I bought this because I saw a co-worker watching TV on his computer and I wanted to do it too! I like the Slingbox because it does what it is designed to do, which is to "sling" your cable through the internet. The only problem I had was port forwarding it manually. I failed to realize that I had two routers (an AT&T modem/router, and a D-Link router) together. The D-Link was ready but the AT&T's firewall was closed. After I set the AT&T router, it was good to go! I really don't know what to compare it to, the Vulkano maybe, but I haven't experienced one so I can't really judge. I got the Slingbox Classic for a good price on ebay, and it's already paid for itself!
