    Secret uses for this New Old Stock industrial control Transformer

    I paid $60.00 + 27.52 shipping. This is the 3rd 3KVA I purchased NOS at this reasonable cost. These G.E. Types are sitting on shelves all over the place. Numerous used ones to be found. They are & were used in factory's. Their original purpose was to step down the factory voltages to 110-120 for other equipment that needed this voltage. I am using them in reverse to step up the voltage. "Back feeding" this Transformer requires certain steps and precautions. Plenty of information on the internet on "Back feeding". I am using a 40 Amp soft start at the "output" which is now the "120v" input. Using a compounded full wave bridge at the 480v "input" which is now 480v output; I get the DC Plate voltage I require for my home brew Sweep tube RF Amp.
