Lively and surprisingly big even after almost killing them myself. I was in the middle of an emergency when they arrived so I put the box in the garage refrigerator overnight. The following evening when I open the box I realized there was an ice pack and the dirt started to freeze. I thought I killed them for sure. I let them thaugh out while I changed out the dirt from my existing habitat picking every warm out (won't do that again) I found these worms alive and well. Big enough to fish with.
