This is a awesome game. Its hard to explain, bc there are a lot of aspects to it, but its technically a board game. You gain powers that help you take over planets to win, OR maybe not. The game has so many cool things about it that you can win by losing, this is a actual power you can get. Im a big fan of this game and have the old version, More Cosmic Encounter, and have been wanting for a long time for this, basically 2009, version. The Avillon Hill version is pretty lame and they lost something along the way. But this one made by "Fantasy Flight Pub Inc" Keeps to the old version and Makes things A LOT SIMPLER!!! Some powers and cards can be confusing and Many arguments about them can arise, But Fantasy Flight Games fixed this problem. The Game does need more alien powers though, But ... To conclude this game is really fun and Fantasy Flight got it right, but the ultimate version would contain at least the 150 different powers that you could get for the old version and lower the price. As of 05/08/09 Its $70 w/shipping from Fantasy Flights website, OUCH!!! but look around you can find it for much less and brand new never used, I did ;) Check out thier website for a More In Depth explanation.

A Very Good Party/Family Game
Great game! Filled with plenty of races and game modes to allow multiple replays! Plus different combinations of races causes each game to be unique and depending on each player the game can take drastic shifts. Incredibly fun for people with a high sense of humor and strategy while all wanting to have fun. Highly Recommended A+++
