Dispatches From The Edge: An Anderfan's perspective
Anderson Cooper's audio recording of "Dispatches From The Edge: A Memoir of War, Disasters and Survival" is excellent. You can hear the raw emotion in Aderson's voice as he reads certain passgges in the book. And just hearing him read his book, his words makes it all the more meanngful and will give you a whole new perspective of Anderson and his work and his book. I've always been an Anderfan, however after hearing him read his own book I like him even more. You can tell that he truly cares about the people he's met over the years, and that to me is something rare. He's kept the thoughts and memories of these people with him over the years. You can also feel the loss that he's suffered over the years when he reads about the death of his father and brother. I think it's refershing that ... I can't wait for this book to be released.From the excerpts from it I've read,I believe it will be a great book.I always enjoy reading articles written by Anderson Cooper. Now to be able to read some of the heartfelt dangers and disasters we've seen him involved in, it's got to be good.I intend to buy it because of the author. I am always interested in knowing more abouy his life. He seems like such a kind, caring person. I hope there will be a book signing somewhere near me. Iwould love to meet him and let him know how much his work is appreciated, how I feel his pain and how much I care for him. I want a hard cover copy and a CD so I can listen to his voice emphasizing the words. This is sure to be a best seller! Thanks for letting me give an advanced opinion. Anderson keeps you on the edge of your seat!
We got this in audio format for a long car ride. It definitely helped pass the time. This is an interesting look at the life of a war correspondent. It tells often intimate details of Anderson's life and of war. The book will give you a new perspective on the "news" business and why some stories make it to the airways while others do not. If you do get the audio book, beware of having children around. It is graphic at times and also contains strong language not suitable for children. If you are a fan of Anderson Cooper and CNN you'll love this book.We got this in audio format for a long car ride. It definitely helped pass the time. This Book "Dispatches from the Edge" Was Excellent
This book was excellent. I feel as if Anderson took me to all the places he had been, as if I was standing there beside him in all the stories he covered, the starvation in Africa, the Tsunami, and in Katrina. He has a way of painting the picture with his words so that it's a crystal clear vision of where you are. I can also appreciate him letting us into his own personal tragedies. If I could speak to him, I would tell him "Anderson, take life a day at a time, and live it, that is a duty, we owe to all the people that didn't and can't." His book has given me GREAT respect for my own time and space here on the planet.This book was excellent. I love Anderson Cooper. I had purchased and enjoyed reading the book but looked forward to hearing it narrated by Anderson himself. I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is refreshingly honest in relaying his story both personal and professional. I only didn't give it an excellent because I have learned that he also has a wonderful sense of humor and although it is very serious subject matter I would liked to have read some inclusions of that humor as it is a part of him as well.I love Anderson Cooper. I had purchased and enjoyed reading the book but looked forward to hearing it narrated by Anderson himself. I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is refreshingly honest in relaying his story both personal and professional.
