Exodus is a classic movie with great actors, and a storyline that reflects history and the struggle the Jews face everyday, even in todays times. I first viewed and enjoyed this movie many years ago, and was as impressed with it today as I was then. A timeless classic for sure. Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Sal Mineo and a host of others did a superb job of portraying thier roles, making you fel as if you were there with them. None of the sex, cussing, and violence of many of todays movies. I recommend this as a family movie, especially for older children and adults. It is quite long, but every scene is important to the story that it tells. Anyone who is a Paul Newman fan should see this movie. Over the years, I've seen many of his movies. I was thrilled to find this one on ebay. Thoroughly enjoyed. Find it, buy it, watch it...then enjoy!

It's hard for me to say which I liked best: Paul Newman as Ari Ben Canaan, with his very dry droll humor, which is my favorite kind of humor anyway, because you can fool so many people with it if you know how to play it just right - or Karen, whose "beyond-her-own-years" intelligence about people still overwhelms me every time I watch this movie - the girl whose part she played must have been real in life, I think - she plays the part so amazingly, and expresses herself in a perfectly understandable way. This is great story about the "birth" of the Israel nation, right after WWII. Paul Newman is excellent (as usual), the direction is ecellent, the story is interesting and factual. If you are a fan of Israel, you must own this movie !

A classic, historical movie about the plight of Jews trying to get into Palestine after WWII, British resistance to that, and their eventual success. One of Paul Newman's best.
