It is smooth, consistent and marked RG8X. The length and price per foot of the cable is an important selling and using point. The cable length is sufficient to place the antenna at a good distance from the transceiver and still run it into a building. If you do the computation of dividing the length by the overall cost you will see that the price is attractively competitive. I hooked it up to SWR meter and the antenna was tune to frequency of 146 MHz with SWR of 1.101. I tested it on the 70 cm band and had very good results with the SWR about the same. I don’t think you’ll find a better cable for the ham bands for the price. And yes you can buy better cables like LM-400 but for RG-8X it is very good for the price.50 Ft. Right amount of flex.
I wanted something for temporary use. This fit the bill. Attached quality connectors, and it coils up nice at the end of the day. 50 foot gives plenty of distance and altitude.
