About this product

Product Information

A falling-block puzzle game originally released in Japan, Octomania tells the story of Kari, a magician's apprentice who is tasked with cleaning up Lonropia after she botched a spell and flooded the town with octopi. Players must clear the eight-legged sea creatures from the screen by grouping them together under "Octo-nets," with the goal of creating the largest chain possible. Mutiplayer options include head-to-head play for two, in which competitors can destroy the competition with devastating sea urchin attacks, and Wi-Fi Network play for up to four.

  • Octomaniac? Possibly

For a first time player of a puzzle game on the Wii, I couldn't 'not' see what this was all about. Due to a bad translation of the tutorials, I scored this game low. After figuring out which tutorial actually gave you the rules of th game, I found that the game was quite delightful. Graphics look much as it would have been on the SNES/Famicon system, but that doesn't bother me much. I do recomment not using your Wii-mote to play, but play old-school style witht the D pad and the A and B buttons. Wii-mote style is near impossible after level 1. I can't wait to play people online. We'll see how that goes!

  • Octomania

A falling blocks game with combos and simple game mechanics. This is kinda like a next generation Tetris type game. The pieces are octopuses that come in different colors. As you line up like colored octopuses together, they disappear, and cause traps to appear in your opponent's field of play.
