One of the ductless mini-split units which is mounted near the ceiling, cooled perfectly but had trouble in heating mode. Heat would rise out of the bottom of the unit and within 20 seconds would shut off because the built-in sensor detected the proper room temperature. The room would never warm up. The unit desperately needed a remote thermostat and this was the only one that is made for the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim units. Installation and setup was a snap, however the thermostat is pre-programmed for a "typical" routine. Reprogramming the thermostat was neither straightforward nor simple. The manual that came with it was version 04 and did not match the functions of the thermostat. Searching the internet and Mitsubishi's website only turned up the version 01 of the manual which appeared to be no different! After a long and frustrating trial and error period, I was finally able to program the thermostat the way that I wanted it. This thermostat also allows for a wider temperature range than the built in thermostat. The manual alluded to this thermostat having 2 modes: commercial and residential, which is supposed to have a slightly different operation, however I could not find anything explaining how to set or change the mode. It's a great product but Mitsubishi needs to make sure that their manuals match their products and something this basic should not be so difficult to tailor to the users requirements.Read full review

Works as expected. Easier to use than the little handhld remote that came with my Mitsu. split unit. I found mine for much less than the suggested retail price. I doubt I'd bought one otherwise. I think their suggested retail price is a tad on the high side for a thermostat, wireless or otherwise.

We've only been able to test the MHK1 in heating mode so far. It's easy to program, and lets you set both the heat and cooling for each time period in the day. But, it reads the room temperature about 7 degrees lower than it actually is. It's an inconvenience, but we just set the temp 7 degrees low. It seems to allow a bit wider temperature swing than the remote control that comes with the unit. but still acceptable.

Amazing product if you're sick of those outdated and hard to read remotes for your Mitsubishi mini- splits or Mr Slim units. You need one of these thermostats for EACH indoor blower unit. Terrible instructions don't explain how to plug in the receiver to your blower unit. Just search online for videos of people installing the model number MHK1 controller. It takes about 30 minutes for each install start to finish. You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself- don't call the AC guy and you won't get ripped off. You don't need any special skills to install it. Wish I'd gotten these sooner.

Unfortunately, the Mitsubishi split unit does not come standard with this product. Once you have this, you will wonder how you did without it. The remote that came with the split was inaccurate and about useless. Once I installed the MHK1 my unit worked great and no more over cooling or hearing. I'm sure I will save a lot of energy as well. As expensive as the Mitsubishi split units are they should come with this unit standard and hard wired in.

Needs light button. To see must begin a change process. A bit clumsy but does the job. Nice to have placement choices and use split unit temp sensor rather than stat sensor. (Easy setup change).

Some people complain that this is sold separately without realizing no Heat Pump comes with a wall thermostat and is always sold separately. The indoor temperature reading is off by a few degrees which makes no sense at all. You have to reprogram it to enter residential mode and also to get the drying mode to work [if your mini split has that already]. It is not difficult.

The price on eBay was less than half the list price, but the thermostat was brand new. Quite happy.

Wireless Remote thermostat is great. It took about an hour to install the units but if I had to do it again it would only take about 20 to 30 minutes. If you have a descent mechanical ability you should be able to do the same.
