About this product

Product Information

The superhero universe is embroiled in civil war, and it's time for players to choose sides in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The game is a mission-driven action-adventure with a focus on small-squad combat, viewed from an isometric perspective. As in Marvel's earlier 3D action games (such as titles in the X-Men Legends series, as well as the original Marvel: Ultimate Alliance), role-playing aspects also influence the adventure, with gamers choosing which heroes to control, and how to improve their various superpowers and abilities as they gain experience by defeating enemies and accomplishing goals.

In most scenarios, a team of four Marvel heroes battles a path through areas teeming with high-tech defenses, heavily armed thugs, and rival superhero and supervillian enemies. Players can switch control between the characters, while the computer takes control of additional teammates. Co-operative multiplayer modes for up to four are available. While all the heroes and villains can perform basic maneuvers such as leaps and melee attacks, each also has a distinct superpower. Over two dozen heroes and villains are available for play, and the special powers of any two super-beings can be combined into a new, even more powerful "fusion" ability. A team with a good mix of special abilities is better prepared for the diverse dangers and challenges that wait in each mission.

The story of the Ultimate Alliance 2 is taken from the Civil War saga, the major crossover event that was first revealed in the pages of multiple Marvel comics in 2006 and early 2007. The U.S. government is calling on all super-powered humans to reveal themselves and register with an official agency, for the safety and protection of the population at large. Heroes and villains now reevaluate past loyalties and regroup according to their stance toward this conflict, which pits the security of the people against the liberties of the individual.

    Awesome game!!!!!

If you've ever played Legos, Marvel Legos in particular this would be the very first one that is non Legos form. Gameplay hidden objects and missions customizing characters unlocking characters and more very similar to Legos

  • Great for PS2, but not compared to PS3

THE BAD: The game is made for PS2, so that says everything right there. There are bugs, glitches and bad graphics. The enemy AI is laughable in some parts. Some areas are so hard to beat based on time limits. I got stuck on the NYC streets once, because the level objectives failed to be uploaded. There are sometimes that one will just have to restart the level in order to complete it. The load times seem to take forever. THE AWESOME: For those who loved the previous Marvel RPG games, then this is a enjoyable game. Blade, Psylocke, and Cyclops are great additions to the game play.(I cannot imagine playing the game without them.) The leveling is there and the side missions are present. The game is worthy of a play through, but for those who hesitant to play this game, should find it cheap.

  • The Good, The Bad, and the (Graphically) Fugly

Okay so if you're a fan of the first MUA, or Marvel Comics, or the Films, or the Cartoons this is worth a discounted buy and here is why: THE GOOD: - More playable characters than the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance THE BAD: - The gameplay has been streamlined from the first game and thus is slightly easier but inversely more frustrating. THE FUGLY: - Bad framerates and graphics that actually make the first game look fricken amazing in comparison. Overall I rate this 2 out of 5 stars as its essentially the same game you'd play on the PSP blown up to fit your TV screen and thus making it looks oh so terrible. I'm really glad I bought my copy on eBay instead of paying 20 smackers at Gamestop. I can see why the previous owner let it go for such a low price.

  • Action Packed Game!!!

There was a great storyline for each chapter in this game and the game itself was challenging and exciting. This game is definetly fun for all ages, even adults like myself!!! I bought this game as a birthday gift for my girlfriend's nephew and he loved it from the beginning until the end...

  • Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 continues the traditional comic book heroes as they become divided by civil war. You can either choose the pro-registration side with IronMan or the anti-registration side with Captain America. Which ever side you choose it is your job to recruit more heroes to your cause. This game is a must to all comic book lovers!!
