Over priced but works great
The file works great but in my opinion it is over priced. I can buy a whole set of files for a lot less than this one costs. Stewmac appears to have very little competition with this particular tool and thus the price.

Nice...with conditions.
This file is way smaller than I expected it would be, but then, for fret ends......I guess it's sized right. It's just a file, and you can probably get by with something else. This one is far too expensive for anyone except the working luthier. as far as function goes, this is very nice. High StewMac quality. It'll never break or wear out so I guess the price is warranted.

This tool is perfect for filing sharp burrs off the edges of new fretted instruments. I wouldn't use any other type!

Nice file
This file is great for detailed finishing. I grew up playing my dad's 1960 Jazz bass. This file can help your frets feel like a vintage instrument of this caliber! I've used it on all my basses!! Love it!

Functional tool but expensive for what it is.
This tool works fine, but it's really just a small file and could be replaced by a regular small file. The rounded shape on one side is useful but not necessary if you work with caution. Good tools are always a good investment, but it's difficult to ignore the price of this file (plus the shipping cost), for what it really is ... a small file.
