Purchased as an inexpensive video editing solution (Davinci Resolve 18) running Fedora Linux. For that job, it works great. Love the fact that I can upgrade to 64GB of RAM...and that it has capacity for plenty of fast storage (currently have two 1TB SSD's on this machine). Install for Fedora 37 was seamless...zero issues. For basic home movie editing (kids, family, sports), this is a great desktop replacement system for when I'm on the road. Have not experienced stability issues...the system runs cool even when stressed. For work purposes with MS Teams / Webex, note this unit does not have a built-in web cam. I just plug-in an external USB camera...no issues. NVidia's drivers loaded and run just fine from the 3rd party rpmfusion repositories. This specific unit was clearly beaten up a bit by its original owner (lots of dents & scrapes) and was had from Ebay on the cheap... but despite what looks to have been a hard life, everything functions fine. I'm a touch-typist and do not find the keyboard annoying. Keys are reasonably spaced...I find no issues typing. It does turn on with an amateurish ROG gamer screen and sound, but otherwise it's functioning fine as a normal work laptop. While the keys can flash rainbow colors...I'd be happy to have just a white keyboard LED option working for typing in the dark...on the deck at night, etc. Tried openrbg to control the keyboard LED options, but so far no luck. Touchpad works fine...no issues (although I generally use a bluetooth mouse).Read full review
