I bought this primarily as a dash cam used in work vehicle and private vehicle. i bought extra suction cup mounts so I can move from vehicle to vehicle. The battery is a bonus feature not provided from other dash cams costing 2x more. At work I can remove from vehicle and use the clip or mount for interacting with the public. I am not sure how durable or heat resistant this device when left in a vehicle while parked. the KJ21 Pro is a touch screen, unlike the KJ21 basic.
