Product Information

As in the original collectible fantasy card game from Wizards of the Coast, Inc., players of this online virtual version select a duelist and two of five deck colors in an effort to defeat rivals by reducing their life to zero. The game offers a single-player Quest Mode divided into six chapters, each offering up to 15 individual quests. Quests consist of duels between rival opponents, mini-bosses, and bosses that hold under their power a specific creature or spell. By defeating powerful enemies, players can acquire magic artifacts to help in battle, along with new spells and monsters to summon. Online support includes a worldwide ranking and record-keeping function, downloadable content such as clothing and accessories for onscreen duelists, special tournaments, forums, voice chat, an active friends list, and more.

    Magic Battlegrounds for the PC

    This game is a challenging one, with many different levels and stages to beat. It is very well explained how to play and at first does take a while to learn the game. Its similar to the card game in the sense that you have many of the same creatures, and you have mana and all. Then again, its actual fighting and casting spells, and much more control than in a card game. Its a great game to fulfill your boredom and just to play at times, but not something I would play on a regular basis. In some ways its similar to a RTS, for the reason that you control groups of people and it does take some strategy at times. Overall a good game, I recommend buying for the Xbox but the PC is also good.

    great game!!

    I would agree with the above post that the graphics are not that great. But I am a hardcore MTG BG: player on xbox live so for me, this game is the greatest game ever!! you just have to keep playing and over time you realize the potential of this game and it's many spell combinations!! This game is built for online play so the quest itself is really just teaching you the basics to survive for what comes next, great battles online!! xbox live gamertag sicksimon1 and soon to be online on pc version as the same name.

    Great Game

    I'm a big Magic fan. I have thousands of cards but don't always have the time nor the people to play with. This gives a great taste of the game while playing only with the computer. Just learning the ins and outs right now but I'm sure I'll be playing this game for a long time to come. I've also gotten my Son interested in Magic as well through this game. Can't get him off the video game. Maybe he can put my cards to good use as well. worth the price.

    Great All-around game

    This is a great game for the three boys in our house, aged 16, 10, and 8. It is a great combination of action and thinking. Altough some levels can be tough, it is a great game. I would definiatly recomend this game to anyone. 9.2/10

    Not like the card game but a nice connection

    This game is nothing like the game that was recently released for Xbox 360 but in my opinion it is much more fun. For any fans of Magic the Gathering this is a nice game that is directly connected and has many of the great spells that we all know and love. Highly recommend for anyone interested in the MTG world.
