About this product

Product Information

It's a case of supernatural larval horror when a billionaire developer (McDowell) and his guests visit New York's Hart Island and find themselves set upon by a swarm of killer flies! The teensy parasitic nasties have a taste for human blood, and there's no flyswatter in sight--soon it's down to a battle of wits between the hapless folks and the deadly insect menace.

  • Creepy Setting, Average Plot

The setting --- Hart Island in New York, where convicts bury and sometimes dig up the unknown dead --- is original and super creepy. So creepy, in fact, that it makes the movie worth seeing, despite the average plot. Come on...killer flies? Of course, they incubate inside humans, which is derivative of ALIEN and many other gory flicks. I would have bought the killer flies scenario if the film were set in the Amazon jungle. But on Hart Island, deserted except for convicts and corpses, there were opportunities for much scarier explanations. The setting begs for ghosts, zombies, psychological horror or sheer human evil...instead, we get gore. This is an OK horror movie; I just expected something more mysterious than flies.

  • Island of the dead.

Not enough character interactions. The plot needs more development. The flies were never explained, nor why they were after king.
