Right part, right price, right now
These are the two components that fail over the life of a printer. One picks up the paper from the stack, the other causes resistance so that only one sheet of paper is fed at a time. I thought I had to buy these separately but these folks offer the two items in one package, at a good deal. The support group at this company is very helpful. Would use these guys again.

With Parallel port and USB printer connections that will allow two printers at the same time, and a very rugged engine and affordable after-market toner, we find these to be excellent printers to run in abusive environments. Getting 100k copies with less than 10 paper jams *ever* is not unusual. Back door drops down for straight-through printing of heavy card stock and "not-so-good" mailing labels that otherwise peel off and cram themselves into the drum unit on most other lasers. Printing duty cycle is basically "load 'er up, let 'er rip" - we have no problem printing 800+ page documents (more than a ream and a half), pausing only to reload every 250 sheets. Top output bin, however, should be cleared every 50 pages, 100 MAX, or you start to get paper pushed out onto the desk. Cost ... Cost per copy, including depreciation when purchased used, can be down in the one-cent range when you purchase no-name refills. Not wireless - for those we now use Brother HL-2170W - but these are the best brute-force lasers we have ever used, and very convenient when running computers or software that require LPT1. Totally self-serviced by our nursing departments! We cannot say that about any other printer (and we've pretty much had 'em all). Worth every penny, despite the slightly higher energy cost compared to current greenie lightweight low-duty-cycle printers for which you are charged a fortune in toner and drums. We've got some of those too, and people actually walk to a computer attached to an 1160 laser for printing big jobs.

Company workhorse printer
This machine handles all the "heavy hitting" at my office. The laser quality is good and the unit does not break down. I highly recommend the HP Laserjet 1160. It's an oldie, but pound for pound you just can't beat it for Black and White copies. If you get one, you will be happy with your purchase. This I know from experience, having tried many different brands, all having one hang up or another. making me not go back to the other brand of printers.This machine handles all the "heavy hitting" at my office. HP Laserjet 1160 - Excellent printer
The HP Laserjet 1160 seems to be a very fine printer. Although HP's high quality may not carry across all their products lines, they seem to know how to build a quality printer. I've been using a Laserjet 6P for years and it's been a jem and when I needed a second printer, I reviewed their models and decided on the 1160. What drew me to the 1160 was, first of all, the fact that it was a HP. I expected a quality unit. Wasn't disapointed. It has a small foot print so it doesn't require a vast amount of space. I needed a toner cartridge and found that reconditioned cartridges are available for around $20. That's steller! The print quality and response to print command is tough to beat for a medium price printer. In fact, they leave nothing to be desired. The paper tray hold a half ream of ... Inexpensive to operate...
I purchased the HP1160 after reading online that a laser printer is much cheaper to operate than an inkjet printer. I found a rconditioned one online for about $75 so I gave it a shot. The good things are the prints come out really fast compared to inkjet, and I would have to buy a truckload of expensive inkjet cartridges to outlast one laser toner cartridge.
