  • Rockcollectable Rating- Good

Well, this album misses the mark for excellent, but it puts in a solid good. It has the great triple threat guitars, the driving beat, the "turn it up!" mode of listening, but it just doesn't break the "awesome" barrier. The talent is there, but the lyrics just don't match up with the Southern Rock Greats - Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, etc. It probably won't be listened to as much as some 5/5 CD's in your collection, but it worth having in your collection. This "Rock Opera" is really a concept album, which portrays a rock band, from inception to fatal airplane crash, it is in fact, an ode to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • Awesome CD to just sit back, drink a beer and remember!

This CD is quite eary sounding in spots, creating an ominous mood, coupled with in your face, matter of fact lyrics that bespeak a great level of street sense and good ol' redneck wisdom. It tells the story (in a manner of speaking) of the times surrounding the mid to late 70's with references to events past and "how things were" if you will. Obviously the guys in this band have gone away and come back to wrestle with their heritage, reflecting on the Lynyrd Skynyrd and other artists connections to Muscle schoals studios where, I believe at least one of them grew up. It is 2 discs worth of honest and heartfelt music that can't help but gettin you yellin' "YYEEEAAAHHH!!!!"

  • The Drive-By Truckers-Southern Rock Opera

One of the Finest Rock and Roll CD'S Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It obviously deals mostly with The Lynerd Skynard Band. I am of that era. graduating from UNC in 1974, when Second Helpings cameout. I only wish I had been able to see them. They were one of the few Greats that I missed Live. I will be seeing the Truckers for the first time this March 28 in Richmond, Va.

  • YOU'VE BEEN MISSING OUT!!! TOP NOTCH DRUNKEN COUNTRY!!!

THIS NOTHING LIKE MOLLY HATCHET AND DOESNT EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE GRACE OF SKYNARD. IN A CATEGORY ALL ITS OWN. NASHVILLE PUSSY MEETS A DRUNK ELVIS ON VICODIN.. 5 OUT OF 5.
