Belt for pl 600
In most cases just installing this new belt will work fine & only take a few minutes. In my case there were issues with the turntable. As some experience, with the new belt the turntable would appear to spin at the correct speed but after a few seconds speed up. What I found is that the belt was slipping up the capstan on the shaft of the motor and that caused the speed up. I noticed that the aluminum platter was sticking on the spindle when removing or replacing it. I cleaned everything & put a drop of lubricant on the spindle so the platter could move freely up and down so the belt would no longer ride to the top of the capstan. This made the speed very consistent & almost correct. I needed to make a fine adjustment to the motors speed control to get it just right. It has been working ... Fits fine turns too fast.
My turntable turns 1 rpm too fast with this belt, my research suggests that's because the belt is too thick ,thicker than the original. The belt seems sturdy and it fits just fine. There is no speed adjustment on this model.. Double sided tape on the platter receiver wheel solved the problem to spec.
