About this product

Product Information

Expand your photographic possibilities by adding this Konica Minolta AF-N 24 mm AF AS lens to your equipment lineup. Its ultra-wide-angle gives you the ability to capture the entire scene with several brands of cameras. As a result, you can take wider shots and experience a wider view field. This makes it a must for shooting memorable landscapes and other views.Smart features such as quick, accurate autofocusing to eliminates close-focus blurring make this throwback Minolta AF 24 mm F/2.8 ahead of its time. Despite its wide angle, the circular opening and seven-blade aperture provides well-controlled corner shading for a more natural-looking photo. Make sure to add it to your collection of camera accessories so you get the best shots, whether you're shooting at your daughter's Little League game or are on vacation. The most distinguishing feature of the Minolta AF 24 mm F/2.8 is the ultra-fast autofocus and image stabilization system. These functions automatically streamline image focus to offer great photos in every focus mode, including manual focus override. In fact, this Minolta 24 mm F/2.8 lens also excels in the quality of craftsmanship. As such, it has a metal filter thread, metal hood mount, and metal focus ring. The rear-group focusing of Minolta lenses ensures that only the focus ring moves without any movement on the outer fringes. Interestingly, Minolta AF N 24 mm f/2.8 AF AS is among the world's first autofocus ultra-wide lenses. You are likely to get extremely effective performance when using it as an ultra-wide lens only. Officially, Minolta calls it MAXXUM AF 20 mm F/2.8 because MAXXUM is the autofocus brand of the company. Outside the United Status, the company uses the Dynax name instead of MAXXUM.This Minolta 24 mm lens supports 10 elements in 9 groups. Because it is rear-focused, the front and exterior of the lens do not move, which is useful in outdoor environments. It is also multicoated with a diaphragm constituting 7 straight blades stopping down to f/22. As indicated, the original focal length is 20 mm. To get an idea of the focal length, you can compare to an angle of view of 30 mm lenses when used on a full frame or a 35 mm camera. For precise technical definition, this 24 mm f/2.8 AF AS lens creates a 94.4-degree angle of view when in full-frame.Weighing only 10.1 oz with dimensions of 3 inches in diameter by 2.1 inches extension, the Minolta AF 24 mm f/2.8 AF AS Lens can be stored easily in a bag. While maintaining sharpness, you can focus as close as 10 inches from the image plane, which is approximately 5 inches from the front of the lens. In fact, it has a hard infinity focus stop, which is also perfect for taking photos of illuminated objects in the dark, such as bright stars in a night sky.In fact, these type of lenses can take impressive images and photos with flash without depending on distance encoding. Other convenient features include a focus scale, depth-of-field scale, infrared focus index, and a 55 mm filter thread made of solid alloy. Made in Japan, the original Minolta AF 24 mm f/2.8 content box contains accessories such as a front cap, rear cap, hood, and a user manual.

There are those that say why would you put a 30 year old lens on a modern camera? The answer is simple. This Minolta 24mm 2.8 lens was way ahead of its time and is still a great value. First of all it is an all metal lens. Enough said. It has no motor, this minimizes breakdown. I believe this lens will outlive me. Second, the VR and focusing motor and VR control is built into the camera body. This makes this 30 year old glass VR capable and it focuses fast and accurately. Does it auto focus slower than the newer Sony glass? I can't tell, for my purposes, it focuses fast enough. I own a Sony A77II and Sony A99 and both allow very fast auto focusing, even though their are only 5 contact points on the Minolta glass vs the 8 contact points on the newer Sony lenses. The 5 points on ...
