I was able to test the same rod of a friend and I put 6oz weight, the rod handled it absolutely no problems. My friend used it several times with 7oz...same. It is rated to handle 250g and it just does what it has to...cast in as far as much power it gets. The rod bends to it just the right amount to have that sligshot effect and you feel you need to stop the weight flying because it never drops inthe water 😁 A+
