About this product

Product Information

All Neal Page (Steve Martin) wants to do is make it home from a business trip in New York City and spend Thanksgiving with his family in Chicago. Instead, he finds himself rerouted from New York's La Guardia Airport to Wichita, Kansas. With no other options, Neal decides to share a room in a fleabag hotel with Del Griffith (John Candy), a shower-curtain-ring salesman and fellow stranded traveler. Although Neal finds Del to be a buffoon, he just can't seem to get away from him. To make matters worse, all their efforts to get back to Chicago fail as trains break down and rental cars catch on fire. Along the way they encounter crazy cabbies, redneck truck drivers, and oversexed bus passengers. John Hughes's (SIXTEEN CANDLES, THE BREAKFAST CLUB) first film to feature adults after his success with teen films features fine performances from Martin and Candy. Kevin Bacon, who appeared in Hughes's next film, SHE'S HAVING A BABY, makes a small but humorous appearance, as does Edie McClurg, known for her role as the high school secretary in FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF.

    Who Doesnt Love Candy !!!!!!!!!

    Here is another classic with two great guys doing what they do best. I think we all wish John was still here adding his unique and very funny touch to movies today!!! It would not matter how good the movie was as he would make that much better with his natural ability to make people laugh and weap at times with looks and the perfect catch fraise. A movie that days after out of the blue a scene pops in your head and followed by the head shake and chuckle.

    Planes, Trains and Automobiles (2008, DVD)

    I love this movie! John Candy and Steve Martin are hilarious. This is a classic, hands down. Nothing goes right for Steve Martin when it comes to transportation, hence the movie title. I decided to buy it because I'm a big fan of John Candy and this film is one of his best. You will have many laughs from the beginning to end with this one!

    Planes, Trains and Automobiles

    Bought this DVD for my guy friend who had been searching for it. We watched it; one of the funniest movies ever! 2 Thumbs Up! Also seller gave us a short CD with 80's songs. Nice touch.
