    Good value, understand its limitations

    This particular tool is a good balance between price and quality. It is well-made enough for nearly all of the jobs you would expect it to do. It will dependably and repeatedly trim soft aluminum as thick as will fit. Harder aluminum (6061 is fine, 2024 you might not be able to trim the thickest pieces). Copper sheet yes, brass only if it's thin. This tool is not for steel of any kind and it does not work on stainless, even if it's thin. I use it exclusively for aluminum and I would buy it again.

    Honest Review

    I received this tool yesterday and just used it to cut out a window in steel for a 1602 LCD display. The metal I was cutting is 18 gage (aka 3/64in / 0.0478in/ ~0.12mm) steel inside an electronics project box. The tool worked great. It was a bit tedious to slog my way through this much steel but it was faster than drilling 4 holes and using a bow saw. The tool could really use a soft grip for this kind of steel, but I like the price more than my hand hurts. Taking out a large chunk of steel with this tool generates enough force to hurt a bit. I imagine this issue is simply due to the design of a nibbler in general, and would be similar with any brand or manufacturers product of a similar design.     I have a number of cutting tools for enlarging holes in sheet metal, but nothing works as efficiently and accurately as this hand sheet metal nibbler cutter tool. I have used it successfully when enlarging the opening on the front of my propane BBQ control panel when I switched to a larger diameter electronic sparker from the original piezo sparker unit, as well as to custom craft DIY stove burners for backpack and motorcycle camping cooking. I like them so much, this unit recently purchased is my 'back-up' to the original.

    you cannot beat them for the price

    have been using these for about 20 yeas .radio shack first sold them back then and quit carrying them.did not know they were stil being made.the prive I paid for the one I just bought was about the sam when radio shack sold them 20 years ago.these do precision cutting on light gauge steel aluminum and plastic.you cannot beat them for the price.
