  • Very good learning tool

Ansel Adams was an outstanding black and white film photographer and dark room expert. He also had the ability to see a great photo in the natural settings that he viewed through his camera lens. He learned from years of experience and inner artistic talent how to create a photograph that would appeal to many people who saw his work. The book "Examples, The Making of 40 Photographs" provides an insight into Ansel Adams' creative thinking as he composed the photos shots and processed them to the final photographs. He provides detailed information on how he composed the photo and about the equipment and camera settings he used, in addition to what he did in the dark room to create the final picture. This is definitely a book that will be helpful to the amateur photographer and ...

  • Ansel Adam's classic photos described in his own words

An interesting look into Ansel Adams thought process and physical camera usage. There's a ton of detail he gives about exposure (still relevant) and film developing (not very relevant to digital photos). Of course, each photo is worth viewing and studying. For each pic, you get about 3 pages of write-up. The book is worth it for the pics alone.
