    Title is good, but not too many Dolphins in movie, just enough for use as a Title.

    Great older movie for kids & nostalgic older adults. I like the fact that the Island is real (Channel Isles, Ca) and that the Indigenous people were/are a real Tribe at least at the time. It also depicts the seal fur trade which was prevalent along the California coast by both American & Foreign seal hunters. I consider this a worth watching/buying DVD for all age groups. Note: There is of course some betrayal & violence shown, but not gory like what is shown nowadays!

    Island of the Blue Dolphins dvd

    I showed this movie to my 4th grade class after we read the book and they loved it! I was worried they would be disengaged because it’s an older film but they were so into it! Movie came exactly as advertised. Very pleased with my purchase!

    Difficult to find film version of an award-winning children's book

    I used this film as part of a 5-6 grade class lesson plan. The story is true although altered by Scott O'Dell for liteary purposes.
