About this product

Product Information

This is the 4th edition of Murach's classic Java book that's trained thousands of developers in the last 10 years. Now fully updated to take advantage of the NetBeans IDE, this book helps any programmer learn Java faster and better than ever before. It's the one Java book that presents object-oriented features like inheritance, interfaces, and polymorphism in a way that's both understandable and useful in the real world. It moves at the professional pace that's expected on the job. It is full of practical coding examples that enhance training and that work as time-saving models for new applications. And it's all done in the distinctive Murach style that has been training professional programmers for more than 37 years.

The item came in original box and is verified to be authentic. But before it was even shipped the seller was very responsive with requested pictures to verify authenticity. Truly appreciate it! Priced reasonably well. USPS on the other hand though.. it was a week late.

  • Book Itself is Fine

While the book itself is good, I'm having problems using NetBeans (the preferred IDE). For some reason I can't create a new file in NetBeans, therefore I can't do the exercises. Unfortunately I also can't find any recourse to the NetBeans people to get help.

  • great textbook, great price

I was able to buy this book here for the same price the college bookstore rented it to me. Needless to say I returned that book and now own this thanks to the low prices.

  • Awesome book for Java and object-oriented programming in general!

I bought this book for a class, which is just as well considering I was looking for a suitable book to learn Java from. I already have had plenty of experience with object-oriented programming, but the concepts for both OOP and Java-specific details are covered beautifully. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone from beginners who want to learn how to program, all the way to experienced programmers who haven't yet gotten around to learning/using Java.
