    Handy portraiture lens, recommnded.

    This lens, though a manual focus system, and heavy, provides a sharp image when used correctly. It's a real light bucket, running wide open at f/1.4, and with a 72mm phi to boot. This is a good, much less expensive version of the classic 80mm portrait lens so often used by fashion photogs, a very worthwhile bit of kit in which to invest. Frankly, for portraiture, the manual focus is a plus (on which eye do you want to focus?) and the weight adds a bit of stability. Happy to own, already productive.

    Quality optic at a bargain price!

    Bought to use on a Sony a7 after reading many reviews online. It’s a manual focus lens but for portraits that’s not a problem. Excellent build quality and less than half the price of the Sony equivalent.

    Excellent choice!

    Very good image quality combined with a low price. Cons: using at F1.4 it has purple/green chromatic aberration, it can be corrected easily with post processing. Overall it's an excellent choice.
