Victory over the Darkness by Dr. Neil Anderson
This is an excellent book. There are 3 books very similar in nature by Dr Anderson and the are Boundaries, Victory over the Darkness and Restored. Many people in our small group find the first 2 books a little startling, yet comforting at the same time. After hearing stories of things that tormented themselves, they have discovered they are not alone and they are NOT crazy. They just need to ask God to take control over that area of their life. Ask for forgiveness and turn from anything that may be allowing an opening for that evil in their lives. The books lead you to a process that is called the 7 Steps to Freedom by Neil Anderson. This is an awesome tool to set you free with the Truth of who Christ is and who You are in Christ. I highly recommend this read and a personal Freedom ... This is an excellent book. The purchase behind the book titled "Victory Over the Darkness" was simple. My husband had borrowed it from someone and loved it so much, we decided to get our own copy. This book is excellent. It teaches you the victory and power we have in the name of Jesus Christ. There are many churches that fail to preach and teach about darkness. They teach a prosperity gospel. They teach your life should be all peaches and cream instantly when you ask Christ into your life. They teach that you should have no sin at all in your life. They teach that if you have problems, it's all your fault. The bottom line is this: Satan is real and he will do whatever it takes to stop you at the cross. This book is the best, most concise one about how you, me, anyone, no matter the issues you're trying to get past - drug addiction, overwhelming fear, depression, illness, etc - can live a more productive life with less sliding back into destructive habits. The power in a close bond with Jesus allows for victory over darkness in your life, in the world. It's a wonderful book full of wonderful information already available in the Bible, but easier to look up and it's all together on the same subject - overcoming the garbage in this life. Cheers to the author of the book and the Author of Life! I bought this for two people in my extended family who have had very serious drug addictions. Knowledge of God gives Power over the Darkness in Your Life
I first read this book 10 to 12 years ago and have used it, loaned it, and given away dozens of copies. My wife and I work a lot with different programs such as Celebrate Recovery, Prison ministry, Foundations For Recovery, and Divorce Care. For many who come to these faith based ministries they are believers but either lost their identity in Christ or never established one in the first place, therefor they suffer from addictions, hurts, no self worth, and little basis for their faith. I don't want to say this is a wonder book but it does explain in a simple straight forward way who they are in Christ and gives them many, many scriptures to learn the promises of God and reaffirm the reason for their faith.I first read this book 10 to 12 years ago and have used it, loaned it, and given away dozens of copies.
