The Panasonic DMR-E50 DVD Recorder allows you to record on a rewritable DVD-RAM disk or write to DVD-R discs. It has a 181-channel tuner to help you locate your favorite programs. Record up to 4 hours with SP mode or 12 hours in the standard mode. The DVD-RAM disc can be erased and rewritten onto up to 100,000 times. With the Panasonic DMR-E50 DVD Recorder, you get the flexibility to use playback and recording options that are not available with a regular VCR.

    Panasonic DMR-E50 DVD recorder

    This is a good basic DVD recorder - best use is converting tapes to DVD - however they do wear out after about 1200 recordings - I don't recommend repair; it can be expensive - I just bought a used one and it's fine. Very easy to hook up and use.

    This unit is basically an execellent recorder. I had a unit in the past that lasted for years and functioned well. Has very good recording features.

    Unit did not work when received. The unit would not read a pre-recorded disk or would it reconize a blank DVD. Unit may have been damaged in shipment. Do not know this for sure. Did not seem to be packed well and USPS was way late on the projected delivery.

    Great DVD Recorder in excellent condition.

    This is easy to use and records great. It is an older model, as I had this model as my very first DVD recorder. It is in excellent condition and I am very happy with my purchase. Panasonic makes great products.

    The remote didn't work correctly.

    After checking with a video expert and a downloaded user's manual, we were unable to get the provided universal remote to function properly. The audio channel was intermittent, and the remote did not give us the required menu option to "finalize" the DVDs. We were unable to get a usable DVD recording.
