Dan Harrington is the man! His books are great, and very informative.
I highly recommend reading as many of these books as possible. I have the 3 volumes of tournaments books, and am waiting on the 2 cash game books to arrive. I have typically played tournament poker for most of my "Career", but have recently began playing micro/low stakes cash mostly online. Although the state of poker has changed quite a bit since this book was published, I have found that the majority of the information still applies. If you apply the strategies and techniques taught, you will definitely improve your game. These books can be picked up super cheap used, but I feel they are worth the full retail price for a new copy. I personally buy used books most of the time, just because I don't mind a little wear usuallly in exchange for big savings. Read Volume 1,2, and then this ... This book puts us in the seats of the worlds best players in some of their more taxing situations and demands us to draw on our hopfully now advanced poker know how after having read volumes 1 and 2, to make the right moves at the right times. What you will gain from reading this is a crucial revision session of the first two books and in a sense some top class experiance of playing no-limit poker tournaments. Ultimately you will be told how well you have learnt everything so far and so hopfully you can realise which areas need work in your game and improve on them further. I write this review as my little thankyou to Dan ... This is a hold'em poker workbook. Make sure to read the first two books in the series before buying this one. Volumes 1 and 2 build the Harrington's poker theory foundation that is used to explain the solutions to all the questions in this volume. There are no new concepts presented in this volume. However, it has example after example of how concepts are applied. This book also provides an excellent opportunity to evaluate your own hold'em poker skills.This is a hold'em poker workbook. Make sure to read the first two books in the series before buying this one.
