Over the Hedge is A fun family game that is enjoyable for everybody in your family! The game itself is fun, easy, and straightforward. It's definitely aimed towards younger audiences but can be fun for older players as well. Pros: - Real Actor Voice Overs - Very small learning curve - Graphics are decent - Go-Kart Mini Game is AWESOME!!! Cons: - Loses replay value pretty quickly (especially for older players) - Game might be too easy Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: If you have a young gamer this game will likely make you a hero in their eyes. If your gamer is older, go with something a little more mature. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.
I haven't personally played this one. I bought it for my boys (9 and 11), they love it! They like playing the different characters. The voices are fun and very similar to the movie. It's a great alternative to the many violent games out there. We've had a hard time finding kid appropriate games for the Xbox that were fun but not Little Kiddish. This game is a good match for the older Elementary school crowd. This one particularly appealed to them due to the character Hammy.
DreamWorks Animation is truly pushing the CGI limits in their soon-to-be-released feature film Over the Hedge. Realistic fur animations, sophisticated voice synching, and astronomical poly counts are just a few of the aspects that will make Over the Hedge a technological marvel when it hits theatres. But technologically advanced CGI films don’t fill movie theatre seats. We’re talking in the mind of a ten year old here, so Over the Hedge’s ultimate success lies largely in the hands, er, paws of its talking animal characters. Whether hand drawn on thousands of cells or mocked up in Maya, the bottom line is that the characters have to come to life and burst with personality for kids to enjoy. Same goes for the video game industry too. If an E or E10+ title doesn’t have a strong player character that the kiddie gamer can identify with, expect more entertainment value out of the box than the actual game in the Xbox. Activision’s Over the Hedge for the previous-gen Xbox allows kiddie gamers and their parents to interact with the entire cast of the film, while at the same time exercising their brains a bit as a tandem. But is there enough kudzu here to chew on; enough to keep a finicky young mind occupied for hours on end?Read full review
This game is pretty fun but very hard to play sometimes because you can't control the camera angle. Most xbox games have the ability to control the camera as you are walking around. This is not one of those games. Otherwise, it's a pretty fun game! My 2-year old son likes it!
I bought this x-box game for my 5 year old son. He loves to play games, and I wanted to get him one that was fun, and yet not so violent either. I love this game, and he loves playing it. My son had asked me to buy it for him when it first came out, but I didn't, and when I saw it for a good price on e-bay is when I decided to go ahead and get it for him. It was one of the best buys I could have done on e-bay.
