Arrived in 7 days ARO. UPS tracking is poor (actual home delivery is done by the USPS)! Compass ball is approx. 1 1/8" in diameter. Construction of ball is plastic so it will scratch easily but it's spherical shape is inherently strong and shouldn't break easily. The main cardinal points are also marked in phosphorescent green paint so after exposure to light they will glow in the dark for a while. The advantage of a ball compass is they are very tolerant of working when not flat.
