A friend from Greece sent me a book called the "The Great Lie" which is a greek author Michael Kalopolous,,,very compelling and well written... Makes a great case for the historical version of the the events of the bible...A time when the "human intelligence was in a fragile and innocent stage of development" may have been hijacked by some pretty shrewd "Individuals" ...Possibly to further their own purposes, survival, greed? The opening passage of the introduction in The Christ Conspiracy says this: "Believe not because some old manuscripts are produced, believe not because it is in your national belief, believe not because you have been made to believe from your childhood, but reason truth out, and after you have analyzed it, then if you find it ... Very rationale words indeed but how many people would actually do it? How many people would actually have the humility to change their entire way of life and their entire belief system if proven to them it was all mythology, with no basis in historical fact? Fact after fact tells the reader and shows in great detail that the gospel accounts are utterly unreliable as history and cannot serve as evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed. Here we have a virgin-born "son of God" who was widely famed as a great teacher and wonderworker, miraculously healing and feeding multitudes, walking on water and raising the dead. Who was transfigured on a mount into a shinning sun; whose crucifixion was accompanied by great earthquakes, the darkening of the sun and the raising from their grave of numerous "saints" and who himself was resurrected from the dead. Despite the number of great writers at the time, there are basically no non-biblical references to a historical Jesus by any known historian of the time. Everything that you would expect to find in history of these events is completely missing! Acharya's book to go into detail of many mythological characters, these are: Attis of Phrygia. Buddha. Dionysus/Bacchus. Hercules/Heracles. Horus/Osirus of Egypt. Krishna of India. Mithra of Persia. Prometheus of Greece. Quetzalcoatl of Mexico. Serapis of Egypt and Zoroaster/Zarathustra. While the comparisons and parallels to Christ and the story of Christianity are amazing in themselves, it is what is inscribed on the walls of the Temple at Luxor which is the most astounding. You can cover up and hide the past but you can't change it and this evidence alone shows that Christianity is nothing more than a flagrant copy of Egyptian mythology. After examining Acharya's work, I felt a freedom like I have never experienced before. I am not a big reader and not very good with big words and I had to Google numerous words and place names to familiarize myself but even so, I could not put the book down. I bought the others and the change in me, (as I had found the answers in Acharya's books to every question I had ever asked myself) was almost indescribable! The information in Acharya's books totally broke me away from all that mind destroying, endless and needless circular reasoning which does nothing more than traps the mind and soul into a slave-like ideology. Every Christian must buy this book as the Christ Conspiracy unlocks "the mask of Christ" that all Christian groups are masquerading behind and exposes to one and all, the greatest story ever sold! Thank you.

Awesome well researched, well cited, ton's of historical references, about the where the bible got it stories from where the Jesus myth came from.
What a great book, I can't put it down! I was already quite aware that Christianity is a gumbo soup of older myths and folklore. But to get a complete run down of how this sect was started, where the stories came from and from what group and why is marvelous and compelling. I have no idea where the comments about this book "not being well written" are coming from. I will assume that it is from hurt highly religious trolls that never even read the book. Since they never backed up their statements with, why or how the books is "poorly written". Besides those reviewers being upset that the Jesus story is made up. After being told for their whole entire lives that it was real. This book is set up like a analytical historical text book that one would read in undergrad. Maybe that is why ... The author backs up every statement with a time period, or which other religious story x,y and z came from in the bible. It may hurt many readers feelings and cause a strong bout of cognitive dissonance, to learn that the Jesus character along with the bible is nothing more than a made up story. That was taken and weaved together from many other older stories, myths, religions before it. But it is what it is, that's life. But saying that this book is "poorly written" is not going to change facts or bury them. If people want to continue to live in their happy "Jesus is real" bubble, then do NOT buy this book. Or any other book(s) that research the roots of the bible and where it's stories come from, because it will ruin your happy little indoctrination.
