Beautiful Tester with an Achilles Heel.
A Sliding contact brings this Tester down. Way over Engineered. Machined Brass contacts, Color printed label, Segmented LCD. Requires an AAA battery... So I think it actually uses a Volt meter as internals and the Housing acts as leads... Way more advanced than a "Dumb" Battery tester... BUT, when you put a Battery in the sliding clamp to be tested it comes up with different voltages, every time, ranging from bad to good and back... I tried everything to get it working correctly, sliding it open-closed 100x, putting Dielectric grease on the slider and nothing helped. I actually feel bad for the little tester..... Excellent Idea and workmanship.. Bad choice of slider contact mechanics... This thing is probably the lowest margin tester ever made....A Sliding contact brings this Tester down. Way over Engineered. Very poor quality product.
Needs battery to work at all. Even then it gives hit and miss read outs. Some times it gives a read out when you want to check a battery and sometimes the needle doesn't move at all. Not happy with this purchase at all.
