    Great for Speaking; Lousy for Reading Text

    This book was purchased used and missing the CD, which put me at a disadvantage since the thrust of this book puts an emphasis on SPEAKING Hebrew, and not READING Hebrew at all. In fact, very little of the book contains any Hebrew lettering or text, so if you are looking to be able to read or decipher written Hebrew, this book may not be a good choice.

    Hebrew for Dummies is Not a Dumb Book!

    Anyone wanting a solid introduction to everyday Hebrew with the addition of learning several prayers and customs would enjoy this book. A friend is a member of a Messianic Jewish congregation and they do just about everything in Hebrew...so I was lost as to what was going on when I attended their church. Now I have a better understanding and can even participate in their services and know what is being said and done! This book is well suited if you want to learn how to speak and converse in Hebrew, but not what you would want to use if you were wanting something for in depth Bible study. Also, the seller had an excellent rating and provided quick and courteous service. The writers use good humor throughout the book and treat you with respect for wanting to learn some Hebrew.     Hebrew for Dummies by Jill Sizanne Jacobs

    Hebrew is made easy with this book. I wish I'd had this book earlier. I've tried other methods, this is r e a l l y easy to follow. My problem with other language teaching books has been lack of step by step instructions. So glad I found it!!!
