Exactly what I needed and wanted
I'm glad to have found these, which were my original thermometers in my kitchen. All the newfangled ones are way too complicated or aren't appropriate. These are well made and serve the purpose. I like a great idea executed well and these are a great example. It was an extraordinary buy at this price so now I have two. My first one lasted 30 years so I think I'm in pretty good shape now!

Not worth the money
Very cheap and defective. The mercury was divided, half at the top and half at the tip. When placed in a cup of boiling water the mercury would not move!
