About this product

Product Information

A revised edition of the New York Times bestseller that will help you conquer ADD--from the author of The End of Mental Illness . Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a national health crisis that continues to grow--yet it remains one of the most misunderstood and incorrectly treated illnesses today. Neuropsychiatrist Daniel G. Amen, MD was one of the first to identify that there are multiple types beyond just purely hyperactive or inattentive ADD, each requiring a different treatment. Now, in this all-new, revised edition, Dr. Amen again employs the latest medical advances in the field, including the largest brain imaging study ever completed on patients with ADD, to identify, examine, and demystify the 7 distinct types of ADD and their specific treatments. With updated recommendations for nutraceuticals and/or medications targeted to brain type, diet, exercise, lifestyle interventions, cognitive reprogramming, parenting and educational strategies, neurofeedback, and more, Dr. Amen's revolutionary approach provides a treatment program that can lead sufferers of ADD to a normal, peaceful, and fully functional life. Sufferers from ADD often say, "The harder I try, the worse it gets." Dr. Amen tells them, for the first time, why, and more importantly how to heal ADD.

Healing ADD book , Dr. Daniel Amen

Very interesting, ultimately, God is the healer, but he uses doctors until.... This book helps alot, but without money and insurance, getting a SPEC scan needs compassionate donations. Appreciate all the years of research to put so much knowledge together.

  • Fascinating

Loaned it to daughter who has ADD son. Didn't get it back. I think I have ADD. She laughs (I'm 84 years old). I know I have had it all my life but couldn't express myself. Going to buy another one if I can get my hands on it.

  • Easy to read and understand. Makes perfect sense to the layperson.

I had purchased this book years ago and lent it to so many people who found it helpful. Unfortunately, it never found its way back home to me. Very glad to have been able to purchase another copy. So many of us group people into one category for ADD and that couldn't be further from the truth. This book is easy to read and understand and makes perfect sense to the layperson.

  • Excellent book for ADD patients and parents

This book on ADD is very comprehensive, fairly easy to read, and rich in information and references. I must to read for all ADD patients, family members and parents.

  • Interesting reading

I purchased this for my fiance, who discussed it with me chapter by chapter - not a first-hand review, but I can report that she found it quite interesting and informative, and plans to take action. We shall see about the results.
