    I adored this true story as a child and teen. My teenager has the book now also. She adores it as much as i ever did. Rapt attention all throughout, and no cgi! Excellent characer-building, lovely story, heartbreaking, sweet and uplifting! Perfect!

    An engaging story - one to read for sure!

    "Island of the Blue Dolphins" is really an exceptional story. My friend read it in middle school for a report, and though the story sounding interesting, I never read it until now. The fact that the story is centered around a girl is something that, though popular now, was not as common a decade ago. I'd no idea that the main plot of the story was actually true, either. I think people of any age can learn what hard work and determination accomplish by reading this book. The book is most certainly one to be read by everyone that comes across it.

    Island of the Blue Dolphins

    This is a quality classic based on a true story of a young girl shipwrecked on an island. I read it to my grandsons and they loved it. So, I purchased a copy for my granddaughter to read. Unlike many books published today, this young girl remains innocent but grows into maturity through a myriad of trials and emerges victorious. Should be mandatory reading for grade 3 and up. Parents can feel safe about the contents of this book.

    Every book was is great shape. I wish that they had been the same cover, but that is only nit picking since I was using it for a 4th grade summer class.
