  • Amish Beginnings

This is the first of 3 books in this Triology. It follows Ann's journey from the German Highlands to the United States in a smelly, leaky, boat. It tells the historic tale of what people went through to get to America, and what they the had to go through when they arrived. Most of Ann's Amish church went as a whole and the story is their stories as well as hers. It's well woven together and a quick read. It never seems to drag, but keeps you wanting to see what happens next. It has humor in places and tragedy in others. I highly recommend reading the entire triology, beginning with this one.
