    Good short Story book

    I bought this for my Literature class. This book is composed of many short stories as well as some opinions about them. All of the stories that I have read so far are very deep and require a lot of concentration, understanding and patience. Unless you're a short story fan or you do not need every story to have a morale in the end, do not buy this book.

    The Story And Its Writer by Ann Charters (2006)

    I was not satisfied with the product because there weren't any descriptions of it being the compact version when I purchased it. It's in fine print (tiny font) on the top of the book but it is almost impossible to see it on the picture of the book. That information needs to be necessary to sell with the buyer because it is extremely different from the regular version! It omits stories! Did not serve a good purpose for me. I had to buy the regular version right after I figured this out but luckily for me, I was able to get a refund.

    The Story and Its Writer by Ann Charters

    Great collection of short stories. The selections provide a nice variety of author's and writing styles. Though the book was purchased for my high school student, it would be an enjoyable read for adults, as well.

    All short stories and no punch lines

    I am currently reading this book, consisting of numerous short stories. The stories are all very deep having underlying meaning and vague. The book itself offers no help or guide. There is no dictionary to help you out with meanings such as style of writing, prose, etc. Basically, you're on your own. Very disappointing text with very disapointing assignments. I plan on posting a bad review about the class in hopes of acquiring a new text. Beware!

    Good book. Make sure you are clear when buying the condensed version or the full version! Condensed version is green. Full version, which is much longer, is white.
